Zamorano University welcomed a delegation from Fundación PROSPERA to strengthen institutional relationships and explore opportunities for collaboration in areas of shared interest, particularly education, professional development, internships, and agrifood innovation. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives and discuss potential joint initiatives aimed at developing talent and fostering innovation with a positive impact in Honduras and the region.
The Fundación PROSPERA delegation included Alejandra María de Dios Chang Vides, Vice President of Fundación PROSPERA; Francesca Sofía García Balletta, International Investment and Strategic Development Specialist; Vanni Juliany Palma Mejía, Public Relations Representative; Javier Medina Pavon, Strategic Project Development Representative; and Eric Paz, Project Manager, Territorial Development & Strategic Partnership for Honduras.
The visit began with an executive meeting attended, on behalf of Zamorano University, by Jeff Cohen, President; Ana Maier, Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs; Alejandro Osorio, Director of Institutional Development; María José Baires, Honduras Fundraising Manager; and Thania Pérez, Head of Government Relations. During the meeting, university representatives presented Zamorano’s institutional strengths and discussed potential areas for collaboration focused on talent development and the creation of opportunities with regional impact.
As part of the agenda, the Fundación PROSPERA delegation met with the Continuing Education and Internationalization and Accreditation teams to learn about the university’s specialized training, professional development, and international engagement opportunities. The discussions also explored potential internship programs and other initiatives that could create meaningful learning and professional development opportunities.
The visit also included a tour of Zamorano’s main campus, where the delegation experienced the university’s distinctive Learning-by-Doing educational model. The agenda continued with visits to the Food Analysis Laboratory and the Food Innovation Plant, where participants learned about the university’s capabilities in food analysis, research, product development, and innovation for the agrifood sector.
These activities provided a valuable platform to exchange perspectives on regional challenges and opportunities while identifying areas of mutual interest for future collaborative initiatives.
For Zamorano University, building partnerships with organizations that share a common vision for development and opportunity creation is essential to expanding the impact of its educational mission and strengthening the connection between academia and other sectors of society.
The visit by Fundación PROSPERA represents an important first step toward exploring future collaborations that leverage the strengths and expertise of both institutions to advance talent development, innovation, and sustainable development in Honduras and across the region.
