Zamorano University participated in the 2026 Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA), one of the world's leading scientific conferences in dairy science, through Dr. Marielena Moncada, Associate Professor in the Dairy Cattle Area.
Held annually, the conference brings together researchers, academics, and industry professionals to share the latest advances in research, innovation, and technological development, serving as a key platform for scientific exchange and the development of new collaborative initiatives.
Representing Zamorano University, Dr. Moncada presented the research study Productive Performance of Implanted Beef-on-Dairy and Dairy Calves During the Growing Phase, which evaluated the productive performance of implanted Beef-on-Dairy calves during the growing phase. The findings provide valuable insights into the potential of this strategy to improve productivity in beef and dairy production systems while contributing to the development of innovative solutions that address the current needs of the livestock sector.
Participation in ADSA 2026 provided an opportunity to showcase research conducted at Zamorano University, receive valuable feedback from international experts, and strengthen connections with researchers and universities across the United States and other countries. These interactions opened new opportunities for future scientific collaborations, academic exchange, and joint research projects.
The conference also offered an opportunity to reconnect with Zamorano alumni who are currently pursuing graduate studies at universities throughout the United States and who also presented their own research findings. Their participation highlighted the growing presence of Zamorano graduates within the international scientific community while reinforcing the University's strong academic ties with its alumni network.
Through its participation in this important international forum, Zamorano University reaffirms its commitment to research excellence, innovation, and the preparation of professionals who develop practical solutions to advance sustainable animal production across Latin America.
