The Honduran Social Investment Fund (FHIS) and the Ministry of Community Development, Water, and Sanitation (SEDECOAS) recently conducted a strategic visit to Zamorano with the goal of strengthening institutional partnerships and exploring potential collaborations in key areas for the social development of Honduras.

The day was filled with activities focused on innovation, ongoing education, and applying knowledge in social infrastructure. A major highlight was the official launch of the virtual learning platform developed by Zamorano Everlasting Education (ZEED), which will provide 100% online courses to the employees of FHIS and SEDECOAS. This educational tool is designed to enhance technical skills and professional development, reinforcing FHIS and SEDECOAS’ commitment to continuous learning and the empowerment of their workforce.

During the visit, various collaborative initiatives between FHIS, SEDECOAS, and Zamorano were presented, aimed at designing and implementing social infrastructure projects that incorporate innovative and sustainable approaches. Additionally, the development model of Zamorano, a globally renowned institution in agricultural research and sustainability, was discussed. Zamorano’s expertise will serve as a foundation for applying best practices in the social infrastructure projects of FHIS and SEDECOAS.

The event featured remarks from Warren Ochoa, who expressed his enthusiasm about the potential of this partnership and emphasized the importance of investing in impactful social projects through education. Zamorano’s President, Sergio Rodríguez Royo, highlighted the university’s role in training leaders dedicated to rural and sustainable development in the country.

The event concluded with the signing of an agreement between the parties, formalizing the acquisition of educational services provided by Zamorano and its strategic partner eClass for the training of SEDECOAS and FHIS employees. The agreement is designed to offer specialized educational programs in an online format, tailored to the needs of both institutions' staff.

This visit also reflects FHIS and SEDECOAS’ commitment to investing in high-impact social projects, driving sustainable development and transforming communities across Honduras. The collaboration marks the beginning of a strategic roadmap for future partnerships that will significantly contribute to the well-being of the population and the overall development of the country.
