Visit of Mr. Arnaldo Burgos (Class of 1967)

Zamorano University welcomed Mr. Arnaldo Burgos, alumnus of the Class of 1967, during a visit dedicated to strengthening dairy cattle management and improving milk production systems.

During his visit, Mr. Burgos worked directly with the VP of the Production Units and the technical staff of the Dairy Chain, reviewing nutrition strategies, management practices, and operational efficiency with a clear objective: strengthening the profitability of the dairy value chain. This approach reflects Zamorano’s foundational principle that its production units must be technically sound and financially sustainable, capable of generating profits that directly support scholarship funding and institutional sustainability.

His professional path has been defined not by titles, but by results. Precision in nutrition, discipline in management, and respect for biological limits have consistently guided his work. These principles were shared directly with students and faculty during his visit, reinforcing the importance of rigor, observation, and accountability in agricultural practice.

Mr. Burgos represents the essence of the Zamorano graduate. Son of a man who served in the university dining hall, he grew up on this campus and attended the Alison Bixby Stone School (ABSS). He personally knew Dr. Wilson Popenoe, founder and first director of Zamorano, established in 1941 through the initiative of the United Fruit Company, then led and owned by Samuel Zemurray, even before becoming a student at the Escuela Agrícola Panamericana (EAP). His professional journey reflects the values on which this institution was built, work before recognition, knowledge grounded in reality, and service through excellence.

He continues to work actively as a consultant, sustained by a family deeply engaged in the vocation of agriculture. His professional life has been a shared family endeavor, built through daily effort, discipline, and commitment, from feeding calves to managing complex, large-scale dairy systems.

His visit stands as a living reminder to Zamorano students that leadership in agriculture is not defined by position or time, but by consistency, humility, and an uncompromising respect for truth and results.
