Strengthening partnerships for our students’ professional growth

We were honored to welcome two representatives from the TOP Ohio program to our campus: Victor Arboleda, Career Counselor, and Michael O’Keeffe, Program Manager. Their visit to Universidad Zamorano aimed to reinforce our ongoing collaboration and share valuable information about the professional internship opportunities the program offers our students. TOP—Training Opportunities, Progressis a program based in Ohio that connects international students with hands-on internships across fields such as agriculture, agribusiness, community development, and food technology. It’s designed to provide meaningful work experiences in the United States, helping students develop practical skills and a global outlook. 

During their visit, the TOP Ohio team hosted an information session for our students, where they outlined the application process, eligibility criteria, placement areas, and the types of professional fields available through the program. This session gave students direct insight into the benefits of participating in an international internship program that supports academic and career advancement./as estudiantes conocer de primera mano los beneficios de participar en un programa internacional que impulsa el desarrollo académico y profesional. 

The representatives highlighted that, according to the program’s annual reports, Honduras—particularly Universidad Zamorano—consistently ranks among the countries with the highest number of applicants, a clear reflection of the strong interest and competitive profile of our student body.
