Universidad Zamorano celebrated a historic milestone on May 4, 2026, with the official launch of its new Student Information System, Banner Student.
This significant technological advancement represents a firm step toward the institution’s digital transformation, strengthening academic and administrative management while enhancing the experience of students, faculty, and staff.
The event featured a virtual message from President Jeff P. Cohen, who highlighted the strategic importance of this project for the university’s future. In addition, Dr. Ana Maier, Vice President and Academic Dean, emphasized that the implementation of this system reflects a shared institutional vision focused on innovation and academic excellence.
Likewise, Herbert Gaekel, Vice President of Operations and Finance, underscored the leadership of the Information Technology team in executing this initiative, which was key to ensuring a successful transition to the new system.
The event also included the conference “Technological Innovation,” delivered by Jessica Salazar, representative of Cokreamos, as well as a presentation on the implementation process led by Diana Baquedano, IT Manager, together with her team.
Throughout the event, key members of the institutional team shared their experiences, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the Center of Excellence and various university departments. In recognition of this collective effort, more than 30 contributors who made this achievement possible were honored.

The highlight of the event was the official presentation of a video showcasing the transition from the previous system to Banner, marking the beginning of this new technological era for the institution.
