Advancing Regional Exchange to Explore New Cooperation Opportunities

Zamorano University welcomed Jorge Roca, an Ecuadorian engineer and member of the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, as part of an institutional agenda focused on experience sharing and the exploration of future cooperation opportunities between both organizations.

Jorge Roca brings a solid background in the business and professional sectors, having held institutional leadership roles and actively contributed to educational, social, and productive initiatives. His experience added meaningful perspective to the dialogue held during the visit, enriching discussions around potential synergies and collaborative efforts.

Founded in 1888, the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil is Ecuador’s largest non-governmental organization and one of the most influential in Latin America. Its work centers on providing nonprofit, solidarity-based social assistance in areas such as healthcare, education, inclusion, and support for vulnerable populations, with nationwide reach across Ecuador.

During his visit, Jorge Roca met with academic and administrative authorities from Zamorano University to discuss topics related to educational management, institutional development, social engagement, sustainability, and potential areas for joint collaboration. These exchanges fostered the sharing of best practices and reflections on social and educational impact models with regional scope.

As part of the agenda, the representative of the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil toured several areas of the campus, including academic, productive, and research facilities, gaining firsthand insight into Zamorano University’s learn-by-doing educational model and its contribution to the comprehensive training of professionals committed to the development of the agrifood sector and the broader social context of the region.

This visit reaffirms Zamorano University’s commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and building strategic alliances that promote interinstitutional cooperation, quality education, and sustainable development across Latin America.
