Zamorano University welcomed Narcisa Román, Human Talent Coordinator at Fundación FUEGOS, for a visit aimed at gaining firsthand insight into the student life system, holistic development model, and disciplinary framework that define the institution’s educational experience. The visit took place as part of a scholarship program supported by the foundation for Ecuadorian students interested in pursuing their studies at Zamorano University.
During her time on campus, the Fundación FUEGOS representative met with various academic and administrative departments involved in student support, leadership development, residential life, and the comprehensive services that contribute to the personal and professional growth of the student community. These meetings provided an opportunity to learn about the processes and programs that promote student well-being, community living, and holistic development across campus.
As part of the visit, she also toured several academic and productive units, including the Dairy Processing Plant, the Meat Processing Unit, and the Forestry Module, where she had the opportunity to observe Zamorano University’s distinctive Learning by Doing model in action. This hands-on approach allows students to complement their academic studies with practical experience from their very first year.
She also engaged in conversations with Ecuadorian students and faculty members, who shared their academic, personal, and professional experiences at the university, highlighting the impact that a Zamorano education has had on their growth and international career development.
The visit concluded with meetings with President Jeff Cohen and Vice President and Academic Dean Ana Maier, further strengthening the relationship between both institutions and reaffirming their shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality educational opportunities for young people with strong leadership potential across the region.
Fundación FUEGOS has played an important role in creating educational opportunities for Ecuadorian youth, helping more students gain access to academic programs that enable them to develop their talents and make a positive impact in their communities. Through partnerships such as this, Zamorano University continues to strengthen strategic relationships that expand access to a transformative education grounded in academic excellence, leadership, and Learning-by-Doing.
