AECID EUROSAN DeL and Zamorano University Strengthen Capacities in Applied Research on Food Security

Tegucigalpa, Honduras – September 29, 2025

Zamorano University will celebrate the closing ceremony of the Diploma in Research Methodologies on Food and Nutrition Security, implemented within the framework of the Project Investigating Agrifood Systems (ISA), with the support of the AECID/EUROSAN DeL project, funded by the European Union and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

This diploma is part of the efforts to strengthen the technical and scientific capacities of professionals working on the development of policies and strategies focused on food and nutrition security in the region.

During the event, Dr. Ana Maier, Vice President and Academic Dean of Zamorano University, delivered welcoming remarks, followed by interventions from representatives of SAG-UTSAN, the European Union, and AECID. In addition, a special presentation was offered on research as a strategic axis for the development of Food and Nutrition Security (FNS), led by Adriana Hernández and Francis Denisse McLean.

During the ceremony, certificates of participation and special recognitions were awarded to participants who excelled in the quality of their research. The event concluded with an exhibition of the projects developed throughout the diploma program.

This event reaffirms the commitment of the AECID/EUROSAN DeL project, Zamorano University, the European Union, and AECID to generating applied knowledge that contributes to addressing food and nutrition challenges in Honduras and the region.
