Zamorano signs Memorandum of Understanding with CAEI to strengthen sustainable development in Honduras and the region

On Monday, March 3rd, 2025, Zamorano had the privilege of hosting Mr. Benigno Trueba, Executive Vice President of the Consorcio Azucarero de Empresas Industriales (CAEI), along with Mr. Héctor León, CAEI’s Director of Human Resources, for a strategic visit. During this meeting, a Memorandum of (MOU) was signed between both institutions, strengthening a partnership aimed at enhancing agricultural education, productive projects, and innovative research in Honduras and the surrounding region.

The event was attended by Zamorano's President, Sergio Rodríguez Royo, Vice President and Academic Dean, Dr. Ana Maier, Manager of Continuing Education, Pedro Sánchez, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Arie Sanders, and Fundraising Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean, Alejandro Osorio. The Rector emphasized the importance of this collaboration in driving agricultural and rural development, creating pathways to innovation and sustainable growth. This partnership goes beyond education, incorporating opportunities in productive and research areas with a clear focus on regional progress.

CAEI, part of the asset portfolio managed by Putney Capital Management and affiliated with INICIA through its Energy and Industry platform, is backing this initiative with the goal of generating a positive impact on the economic, social, and environmental fronts. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to fostering a more prosperous and balanced future for Honduras and its neighboring region.

With this partnership, Zamorano and the Consorcio Azucarero de Empresas Industriales reaffirm their commitment to supporting agricultural and rural development, nurturing leaders dedicated to the well-being of communities and strengthening the region's productive sector.
