As part of the Pilot Project for Intensive Technical Assistance to Increase Livestock and Agricultural Productivity, led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG) and implemented by Zamorano University, the first training program for Change Agents was held from July 27–31.
Throughout the five-day program, participants enhanced their technical skills in sustainable bean production through Zamorano’s signature Learning by Doing model. The training combined classroom instruction with hands-on learning experiences focused on improving productivity, promoting the efficient use of natural resources, and building more resilient and sustainable farming systems.
The Change Agents will play a vital role in supporting producers across their communities by sharing technical expertise and encouraging the adoption of sustainable agricultural technologies and practices. Their work will help strengthen food security, improve productivity, and contribute to the long-term development of Honduras’ agricultural sector.
This initiative reflects Zamorano’s commitment to putting applied knowledge into action by extending its Learning-by-Doing model beyond the classroom and into rural communities. Through strategic partnerships with public institutions and key stakeholders, the university transforms research, innovation, and practical experience into solutions that create lasting value for farmers and rural communities.
Through initiatives like this, Zamorano University continues to advance agricultural innovation, expand access to technical assistance, and strengthen local capacity, helping build a more productive, sustainable, and resilient future for Honduran agriculture.
