Zamorano University and the National Institute of Migration (INM) of Honduras have signed an Agreement on Immigration Facilitation, Institutional Cooperation, and Technical Assistance to strengthen collaboration between both institutions and facilitate the international mobility of students, faculty members, researchers, and specialists affiliated with the university.
The agreement was signed by Jeffery P. CohenPresident of Zamorano University, and Carlos CorderoExecutive Director of the National Institute of Migration of Honduras, reaffirming both institutions’ commitment to advancing academic excellence, scientific collaboration, and institutional development in the country.
Through this agreement, immigration procedures for Zamorano’s international community will be streamlined, facilitating the arrival and legal stay of students, faculty, researchers, and experts in Honduras. In addition, the agreement extends these immigration facilitation benefits to the direct dependent family members of academic staff and specialists, promoting family unity throughout their legal residence in the country.
Beyond improving immigration services, the agreement establishes a framework for institutional cooperation aimed at strengthening the capacities of both organizations. This includes the exchange of technical expertise, sharing of best practices, and the development of joint training programs for personnel serving at immigration offices across Honduras.
This partnership will also help strengthen knowledge exchange and attract international talent, promoting scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation in strategic areas for agricultural development and Honduras’s sustainable growth.
