Zamorano University and EARTH University Strengthen Academic Cooperation and the Exchange of Best Practices

Zamorano University welcomed a delegation from EARTH University, Costa Rica, to identify new opportunities for collaboration and further strengthen the institutional relationship between the two universities, both recognized in Latin America for their experiential learning models and commitment to sustainable development.

The EARTH University delegation included Yanine Chan, Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Daniel Sierra, Director of Student Affairs; Amy Porter, Third-Year and Internship Program Coordinator and Manager of Strategic Relations for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program; and Leslie Antonio González, Professor of Sustainable Agricultural Systems and Research Program Coordinator.

During their visit, the EARTH representatives met with Zamorano President Jeff Cohen, Dr. Ana Maier, Vice President and Academic Dean, and other academic and administrative leaders to exchange experiences and best practices in educational innovation, quality assurance, internationalization, applied research, experiential learning, and continuing education. They also learned about Zamorano University's internship program and specialized services, identifying opportunities to strengthen academic collaboration and enhance students' professional development.

The visit also included a tour of the Learning-by-Doing modules, where the delegation experienced firsthand how practical education integrates teaching, production, and research to develop the professional competencies of future agricultural leaders.

In addition, both institutions exchanged experiences on the management of applied research projects and student affairs initiatives, including student leadership, residential life, and well-being. A discussion with Zamorano students provided the delegation with valuable insights into the university's student experience.

The visit reaffirmed both institutions' commitment to strengthening a partnership built on collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of joint initiatives that prepare professionals to address the challenges facing food systems and sustainable development.

Zamorano University Welcomes FONAGRO Delegation to Strengthen Scholarship Program Partnership

As part of its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships that expand access to higher education, Zamorano University welcomed a delegation from Guatemala's National Fund for the Reactivation and Modernization of Agricultural Activities (FONAGRO). The purpose of the visit was to follow up on the scholarship program jointly promoted by both institutions to benefit Guatemalan students.

SEDESOL and Zamorano University Strengthen Access to Higher Education Through the Scholarship Program

Zamorano Unisversity hosted the signing of scholarship agreements under the Scholarship Program implemented in partnership with the Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOL), an initiative that continues to expand access to quality higher education for young Hondurans. Today, this partnership benefits more than 180 Honduran students across different academic years and degree programs at Zamorano University, representing an investment of more than L 60 million in scholarships.
