Research Conducted at Zamorano Presented at One of the World's Leading Dairy Science Conferences

Zamorano University participated in the 2026 Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA), one of the world's leading scientific conferences in dairy science, through Dr. Marielena Moncada, Associate Professor in the Dairy Cattle Area.

Held annually, the conference brings together researchers, academics, and industry professionals to share the latest advances in research, innovation, and technological development, serving as a key platform for scientific exchange and the development of new collaborative initiatives.

Representing Zamorano University, Dr. Moncada presented the research study Productive Performance of Implanted Beef-on-Dairy and Dairy Calves During the Growing Phase,which evaluated the productive performance of implanted Beef-on-Dairy calves during the growing phase. The findings provide valuable insights into the potential of this strategy to improve productivity in beef and dairy production systems while contributing to the development of innovative solutions that address the current needs of the livestock sector.

AgroHub Strengthens Central America's Agrifood Innovation Ecosystem Through the Innova AgriFoodTech and Ruta AgriFoodTech Programs

AgroHub, an initiative implemented by Zamorano University with the support of BID Lab, continues to advance agrifood innovation across Central America through its Innova AgriFoodTech (incubation) and Ruta AgriFoodTech (acceleration) programs. Through these initiatives, 92 startups from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras successfully completed a comprehensive business development process, strengthening their capacity to develop innovative solutions with strong growth and impact potential.

As part of its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the expansion of international partnerships, a delegation from Zamorano University traveled to Germany and the Netherlands to visit leading agricultural technology companies, world-class research centers, and academic institutions. The purpose of the mission was to identify new collaboration opportunities that will enhance student learning and contribute to the advancement of the agri-food sector across Latin America.
