Well-Being in Action: A Week Dedicated to Student Health and Balance

Zamorano University celebrated Student Wellness Week, a space created to promote physical, mental, and emotional health across the Zamorano community. Throughout the week, students took part in informational, recreational, and artistic activities that encouraged reflection on the importance of self-care and personal balance.

A Week That Started with Energy and Awareness

The celebration kicked off at the Doris Stone Student Dining Hall, where an informational booth offered interactive games and moments of reflection. The opening event aimed to raise awareness about World Mental Health Day and inspire students to adopt wellness habits in their daily university life.

A Touch of Magic

Renowned illusionist Daniel Vega filled Aula Magistral A1 with wonder and smiles through a show that blended art and well-being. The performance gave students a joyful break from routine, reminding them that recreation is also an essential part of emotional care.

Movement and Team Spirit

The Rubén Darío sports courts became the gathering place for a day of friendly competition featuring soccer, basketball, and volleyball matches in both men’s and women’s categories. The activity fostered teamwork, community, and physical health through sports.

Spaces for Self-Care and Connection

Throughout the week, Zamorano’s sports facilities hosted the Self-Care Fair, offering sessions on mindfulness, yoga, massages, nutrition talks, body composition analysis, and showcases by extracurricular groups such as REMAR, MRF, and the Equestrian Club. The fair encouraged resilience, balance, and holistic well-being among students.

Active Body, Balanced Mind

At the CEDA, students joined a functional fitness session led by the Fuerza Activa extracurricular group. The activity emphasized the value of physical movement as a foundation for overall wellness.

Art That Inspires

The North Zone Kiosk turned into a creative workshop during Art That Heals, where students painted on fabric and let their imagination flow. This relaxing activity offered a space for emotional expression and connection through art.

A Stage for Confidence

The week concluded with a theater workshop in Aula Magistral A2, focused on improvisation and the performing arts. Through acting and body expression, students built confidence and communication skills in a lively and supportive environment.

Student Wellness Week reaffirmed Zamorano University’s commitment to the holistic development of its students—nurturing health, creativity, and community in a learning environment where well-being is an essential part of university life.
