Dr. Abelino Pitty, a renowned weed science expert and author of several publications in the field, has made a meaningful donation of his books to the Faculty of Agronomy Library at the University of Panama in Chiriquí.

With an outstanding academic career, Dr. Pitty served as a professor at Zamorano for 30 years, retiring with the distinction of Professor Emeritus. A proud Panamanian with a deep affection for Honduras, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to education and research across the region.

A beloved and unforgettable teacher at Zamorano University, Dr. Pitty left a lasting mark on generations of students, not only through his specialized knowledge in weed management, but also through his dedication and passion for teaching. His decades of contributions to the university are remembered and deeply appreciated by the entire Zamorano community.
The University of Panama welcomes this donation as a valuable resource for training future agronomy professionals, further strengthening the legacy of an educator who devoted his life to knowledge and service.
Several of Dr. Pitty’s publications are also part of Zamorano’s physical library collection and are available for on-campus consultation.
