Zamorano University presents the second edition of the President’s Lecture

Tegucigalpa, Honduras – May 21, 2025

Zamorano University presents the second edition of the President’s Lecture, which this year will focus on the topic: “AgriTech and the Sustainable Future: Artificial Intelligence in the Service of the Land.”

This high-level academic event will bring together national and international experts to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the agricultural sector, promoting smarter and more sustainable decision-making for present and future generations.

Two keynote presentations will be delivered under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Decision-Making in Agriculture”. The first will be presented by Marvin Calix, Assistant Professor at Zamorano University, Honduras, and the second on “Harnessing the Power of AI: Transforming Today’s Agriculture and that of Future Generations” will be delivered by Eduardo de Paula Costa, Ph.D. in Computer Science and Senior Data Scientist at Corteva Agriscience, Brazil.

Following the presentations, a panel discussion will be held on “Integrating Artificial Intelligence into the Future of Agriculture: Advances and Trends”, featuring Ana Thompson from the Secretary of State in the Office of Science and Technology, Oscar Vergara from Verisk Boston, Eduardo de Paula Costa from Corteva Agriscience, Marvin Calix from Zamorano University, and moderated by Sergio Rodríguez, Rector of Zamorano University.  como moderador.

The event will conclude with a cocktail and networking session, where attendees can exchange ideas and establish connections with leaders from the agricultural, academic, and tech sectors.
