Zamorano, Honduras 31 July 2025
At Zamorano University, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement, and the formation of leaders who drive positive change in Latin America. As part of this mission, we are making strong progress toward institutional accreditation with WSCUC (WASC Senior College and University Commission)—one of the most prestigious accrediting bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Key Milestones to Date:
· May 2023 – Our Expression of Interest was formally accepted by WSCUC.
· March 2025 – We were granted Eligibility Status, having met the 16 core institutional quality standards.
“Zamorano has submitted an application for Eligibility to the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). After reviewing the application, WSCUC has determined that Zamorano is eligible to move forward with a formal Initial Accreditation process…”

Each stage of this journey involves deep institutional reflection, strong community engagement, and alignment with our educational mission.
From July 16 to 21, 2025, we had the honor of welcoming Dr. Tamela Hawley, WSCUC Vice President and Zamorano’s institutional liaison, to our campus. During her visit:
· She gained firsthand insight into our distinctive learning-by-doing educational model.
· She toured classrooms, labs, production units, student life spaces, and research centers.
· She led training sessions with key stakeholders in the accreditation process.

This accreditation effort is closely aligned with our 2023–2030 Strategic Plan, which aims to strengthen academic quality, optimize internal processes, and elevate Zamorano’s global presence.
We are confident that this important step will further enhance our ability to shape ethical, innovative, and globally minded professionals dedicated to advancing sustainable development throughout Latin America and beyond.
