El Salvador’s CDCA explores new regional partnerships with Zamorano

On Thursday, September 18, Zamorano University welcomed a delegation from the Agricultural Trade Development Center (CDCA) of El Salvador, an agency under the country’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).

The visit aimed to exchange experiences and explore future opportunities for collaboration and trade between both institutions, strengthening regional ties in support of the agricultural sector.

As part of their agenda, the delegation met with faculty leaders and toured key areas of the university, including:

· The Department of Agricultural Sciences and Production, with a focus on the Animal Production Unit.

· The Soils and Water Laboratories, where sustainable resource management practices were highlighted.

· The Dairy Plant, and the Grains and Seeds Plant, which exemplify Zamorano’s signature Learning-by-Doing approach.

· The Zamorano Cultural Center, showcasing student life and community engagement.

In addition to site visits, the delegation held working sessions with department directors, professors, and researchers to discuss innovation, sustainability, and strategies for strengthening agri-food value chains.

The CDCA plays a key role in shaping policies that promote sustainability, efficiency, and equity in agricultural trade in El Salvador. Their visit to Zamorano marks an important step toward building partnerships that drive agricultural and rural development across the region.
