DISAGRO strengthens technical partnership with Zamorano

As part of its commitment to innovation and leadership in the agricultural sector, DISAGRO, one of the industry’s key players, made an important visit to Zamorano to further solidify its technical partnership and deepen collaboration in critical areas of agricultural and agro-industrial production.

The agenda included a visit of several key areas within the university, highlighting the exchange of knowledge and experiences that foster mutual trust and a shared commitment to excellence. Notable stops during the visit included the intensive vegetable greenhouses and the post-harvest processing plant.

DISAGRO’s team included Engineer Leonardo Mejía, AgritecGeo Consultant (Advanced Agriculture) and Zamorano graduate, along with Rafael Flores, Marketing Manager. They were accompanied by Zamorano’s president, Sergio Rodríguez Royo, and Alejandro Osorio, Fundraising Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean, Gloria Destephen, Head of Meat Plant Production, María Fernanda Oyuela, Agricultural Manager for Production Units, and Jessy Bu, Supervisor of Post-Harvest Production in Horticulture.

This meeting reflects the ongoing efforts by DISAGRO and Zamorano to promote research, education, and process improvement within the agro-industrial sector. Through these collaborations, both organizations reaffirm their commitment to excellence and sustainability in agriculture, always with a focus on innovation.

Zamorano strengthens research efforts with Sustenta Honduras

On March 22nd, Zamorano, in partnership with Sustenta Honduras, had the privilege of hosting Dr. Christa Hasenkopf, Director of the Clean Air Program at the University of Chicago. She delivered an insightful talk to students in the Environmental Science and Development program at Zamorano. In her presentation, Dr. Hasenkopf emphasized the critical role of air quality monitoring, stressing how it forms the foundation for creating effective mitigation strategies and preventive policies based on data.

2025 Innovation and Technology Congress

The 2025 Innovation and Technology Congress officially kicked off with the participation of the university community and the public at large. Held at the Palacio Universitario de los Deportes of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH), the event spanned two days, aiming to create a collaborative space for discussion on the latest advancements and challenges in innovation, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and the future of society.
