Agroindustry Department at Zamorano is pleased to announce the successful completion of Expo AGI 2024, an event focused on nutritional food safety and artificial intelligence in the food processing industry and food services. The expo was held on Saturday, November 23, at Zamorano, bringing together professionals, academics, and researchers to share knowledge and experiences, as well as to evaluate the innovative proposals of AGI third- and fourth-year students.

The main objective of this event was to create a space for an industrial-academic exchange, where experts from the food industry, academics, and students could discuss the challenges and advancements in food safety and nutrition. AGI students presented their New Product Development (NPD) and Food Packaging projects, offering innovative solutions to current industry challenges.

Among the key topics highlighted at the expo was a keynote presentation on the use of Artificial Intelligence as a crucial tool for the development of new food products—an area with great potential for transformation in the agroindustry. Additionally, the event featured an entrepreneurship contest, food company presentations, and culinary demonstrations, providing each participant with a comprehensive view of opportunities and trends within the sector.

The event took a multisectoral approach, gathering key players from the industry, academia, and micro and small food entrepreneurs. It also featured the participation of international organizations, chambers of commerce, and other strategic partners, with special attention given to the Zamorano community.

Expo AGI 2024 was an industrial, technical-scientific, and academic demonstration, committed to showcasing how the proposals of Zamorano's food agroindustry students contribute to the region, focusing on the sustainability, food safety, and nutritional security of food systems.

This event has emerged as a key initiative to promote the development of the food agroindustry and opportunities for collaboration between the involved sectors, with the goal of strengthening food systems and contributing to nutritional security in the region.
