The third edition of the Race/Walk for Education 2024 was a resounding success

San Juan del Obispo, Antigua Guatemala - April 28, 2024.

In recent days, Zamorano successfully held the third edition of the Race/Walk for Education in the beautiful Finca Carmona, San Juan del Obispo, Antigua Guatemala.
This sporting event brought together more than 150 people, including neighbors, athletes, families and visitors, to spend a healthy morning while contributing to a noble cause: supporting Zamorano's undergraduate scholarship fund. Last year, thanks to the commitment and participation of the community, we were able to support the two best students in Guatemala, and this year we were determined to exceed our expectations and we did it.

To make this event possible, we had the generous support of outstanding companies and entities that joined our cause. Among our collaborators were Fertilizantes Maya, Banco Industrial, Disagro, Guatemala Real Café, Nutrilife, TOSH, INCAP, Agua Pura Salvavidas, Carmona Trails, Vitalmed, La Antigua Increble, Gremiagro, Top Green, Neonet and many more allied brands committed to the education and development of our region.
This Run/Walk in its different distances (5K and 10K) not only promoted physical activity and health, but also strengthened access to higher education for talented young people who want to make a difference in their communities and in the world. Each step we took together brought us closer to achieving this goal.

At the event we awarded prizes in the 5K walk and 5K and 10K run categories, giving awards to the top 3 places per category and per gender.
We thank everyone and especially the media, who joined us on April 28th at Finca Carmona to enjoy a morning full of energy, solidarity and commitment to education.

Together, we were able to make a difference!

Advancing circular bioeconomy in Guatemala’s coffee sector

Through a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the coffee sector’s productive matrix, the AgroHub project, implemented by Zamorano University and BID Lab, is carrying out a series of technical interventions designed to develop the coffee value chain in the Guatemalan highlands. Under a circular bioeconomy and full-utilization approach, these actions are being executed in synergy with JICA’s CAFEPROCO project, with the goal of transferring specialized knowledge for the creation of value-added products, transforming what has traditionally been considered waste into an input with high commercial potential.
