Race for Education arrives at the Carmona Farm

This event seeks to promote physical activity with a noble cause related to education.

Escuela Agrícola Panamericana, Zamorano, is pleased to announce the arrival of the
third edition of the Run/Walk for Education, which will be held on April 28th
at the beautiful Finca Carmona April 28th at the beautiful Finca Carmona, San Juan del Obispo, Antigua Guatemala.

The purpose of this sporting event is to bring together neighbors, athletes, families and visitors to spend a healthy morning while contributing to a noble cause: to support the Zamorano undergraduate scholarship fund.

Last year, thanks to the commitment and participation of the community, we were able to support the two best students in Guatemala, and this year we are determined to exceed our expectations.

To make this event possible, we have the generous support of outstanding companies and entities that have joined the cause. Among the collaborators are Fertilizantes Maya, Banco Industrial, Disagro, Guatemala Real Café, Gremiagro, Nutrilife, La Antigua Increíble, Instituto de Nutrición de Centro América y Panamá, Agua Pura Salvavidas, Carmona Trails, Vitalmed, TOSH, Neonet and the coordination of the event by Tiempo Total. At the same time, we continue to add allies who are committed to education and development in the region.

The Run/Walk for Education not only promotes physical activity and health, but also strengthens access to higher education for talented young people who want to make a difference in their communities and in the world. Each step we take together brings us closer to realizing this goal. We invite everyone, and especially the media, to join us on April 28th at Finca Carmona for a morning full of energy, solidarity and commitment to education.

Well-Being in Action: A Week Dedicated to Student Health and Balance

Zamorano University celebrated Student Wellness Week, a space created to promote physical, mental, and emotional health across the Zamorano community. Throughout the week, students took part in informational, recreational, and artistic activities that encouraged reflection on the importance of self-care and personal balance.

Zamorano Researchers Contribute Chapter to International Handbook on Women Farmers

Zamorano University continues to contribute to global knowledge on rural development and gender equity. Two of its researchers, Francis Denisse McLean-Rodríguez and Arie Sanders, authored the chapter “Women Smallholder Farmers Growing Horticultural Crops” in the book Women and Smallholder Farming: Addressing Global Inequities in Agriculture, edited by Carolyn Sachs (Penn State University) and Paige Castellanos (Oxfam America).
