Environmental Science and Development
Environmental Science and Development offers a comprehensive education that prepares its students to face complex environmental and development challenges in an ethical, innovative and sustainable way, thus contributing to a more prosperous and secure future for all people.
This degree takes an interdisciplinary approach to address the complex interactions between environmental quality, economic growth, and social equity. Our goal is to drive an emerging world that is more prosperous and secure in terms of food security, with a focus on sustainable agri-food and nutrition systems. We guide our students to become critical-thinking researchers, capable of employing appropriate and innovative technologies, and of equitably and sustainably managing natural resources.Â
They will also creatively provide solutions to challenges such as population growth, food demand, poverty, environmental degradation, variability and climate change, and promote social inclusion, under ethical and governance principles.Â
