The solidarity and commitment of the Zamorano community were once again on full display during Zamotón 2026, a 24-hour fundraising event that brings together alumni, students, families, friends, and partners of Zamorano University around a shared purpose: creating educational opportunities for talented young people and helping them fulfill their dream of studying at Zamorano.
The 2026 edition raised a total of USD 100,482, surpassing its USD 90,000 goal by USD 10,482. This achievement reflects the extraordinary response of a community that continues to embrace education as a powerful tool for transforming lives and creating a lasting impact across the region.
Throughout the different editions of Zamotón, funds raised have helped support 27 students from eight countries, expanding their opportunities to pursue a university education and prepare themselves to drive positive change in their communities and countries.
Zamorano University’s Pan-American spirit was once again reflected in the participation of donors from around the world. This year, the countries with the highest participation were Honduras, Panama, Ecuador, the United States, and El Salvador, demonstrating that the bond with Zamorano remains strong across borders and long after graduation.
The friendly competition among generations was also an important part of Zamotón. The classes that ranked highest in participation and contributions were the Class of ’89, Class of ’83, Class of ’67, Class of ’96, and Class of 2000.
Beyond the rankings, every contribution made during Zamotón represents a collective commitment to future generations and to ensuring that more young people can find in education an opportunity to transform their future.
Since its creation, Zamotón has become a gathering point for solidarity and engagement within the Zamorano community. For 24 hours, people from different generations and countries come together in support of the University’s Scholarship Fund , mobilizing resources that help expand access to an education of excellence.
The more than USD 100,000 raised during Zamotón 2026 represents hundreds of individual decisions to give, share, and believe in the potential of a new generation of leaders.
