Data Intelligence to Understand Agricultural Markets
In a world where information is a key tool for decision-making, data analysis is transforming the way agricultural markets are understood. Eng. David Torres, a graduate of the Agribusiness Engineering program, under the supervision of Marvin Cálix, E.M.A., and Martin Leal, M.Sc., conducted a study focused on implementing business intelligence tools to analyze the behavior of agricultural products (commodities) in the United States market.
The study proposes the implementation of a platform based on Power BI, a tool that allows large volumes of data to be integrated, visualized, and analyzed dynamically. Through this technology, patterns, price trends, and market behaviors can be identified, enabling a better understanding of how agricultural commodities are marketed. commodities) agricultural
The results demonstrate how the use of structured data can support decision-making at both the business and production levels. The research highlights the potential of business intelligence to improve competitiveness, optimize decision-making, and open new opportunities in increasingly complex and globalized markets. Having clear, real-time information makes it possible to anticipate changes in the commercial environment, reduce risks, and seize opportunities—key aspects in a sector as dynamic as agriculture.
