Zamorano Wins First Place in the 2025 LABSAG International Challenge

Zamorano University earned first place in the 2025 LABSAG International Challenge, standing out in the SIMPRO – Production Management simulator, one of the five academic simulators featured in the competition organized by Michelsen Consulting.

The LABSAG Challenge took place from November 3 to 12, 2025, bringing together universities from across the region to compete in simulation environments designed to evaluate strategic, managerial, and operational skills. Within the SIMPRO simulator, teams must efficiently manage a production plant and meet high-performance benchmarks.

Zamorano’s team was represented by Dany Wilfredo Ajú Ajzalan and Camila Solórzano Castillo, students of Food Processing Engineering, and guided by Ing. Anael Espinal. Their outstanding performance secured first place among all participating institutions.

In its official award announcement, the Organizing Committee congratulated Zamorano University for “the excellent performance demonstrated in the LABSAG Challenge – November 2025, becoming one of the winning teams in the SIMPRO simulator and achieving first place among institutions.”

This achievement highlights the commitment, discipline, and preparation of Zamorano University students in international competitions, while reaffirming the institution’s academic excellence, hands-on learning model, and strong focus on practical, real-world training.
