Zamorano Honors Students for Academic and Disciplinary Excellence

Zamorano University hosted its annual High Honors Dinner, which this year was combined with the Disciplinary Excellence Dinner to celebrate students who achieved a grade point average between 89.5% and 100%.

For the first time, the Department of General Education was included, with academic performance evaluated up to the last term of the year prior to the celebration. In 2025, recognition was based on results throughout the third term of 2024.

The event featured remarks from Vice President and Academic Dean Dr. Ana Maier, and was attended by the four program directors, the Head of the Department of General Education, the Associate Dean of Students, the Associate Dean of Academic Quality and Management, and representatives from the Office of Student Affairs and Student Life.

A total of 184 certificates were awarded to students with outstanding academic performance, including the highest GPA of 97.46, achieved by a second-year General Education student. In addition, eight students received Disciplinary Excellence awards for maintaining a spotless record throughout their time at Zamorano.

Academic Excellence certificates were presented by the program directors, while the Disciplinary Excellence awards were presented by the Dean of Students and her team.

More than a tradition, this celebration is a testament to the dedication, discipline, and perseverance of students who, through their example, strengthen the academic prestige and values that define the Zamorano community.

AgroHub Strengthens Central America's Agrifood Innovation Ecosystem Through the Innova AgriFoodTech and Ruta AgriFoodTech Programs

AgroHub, an initiative implemented by Zamorano University with the support of BID Lab, continues to advance agrifood innovation across Central America through its Innova AgriFoodTech (incubation) and Ruta AgriFoodTech (acceleration) programs. Through these initiatives, 92 startups from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras successfully completed a comprehensive business development process, strengthening their capacity to develop innovative solutions with strong growth and impact potential.

Zamorano University Leaders Strengthen Strategic Partnerships in Germany and the Netherlands to Advance Agri-Food Innovation

As part of its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the expansion of international partnerships, a delegation from Zamorano University traveled to Germany and the Netherlands to visit leading agricultural technology companies, world-class research centers, and academic institutions. The purpose of the mission was to identify new collaboration opportunities that will enhance student learning and contribute to the advancement of the agri-food sector across Latin America.
