Zamorano University welcomed representatives from Beneficio de Caf\u00e9 Montecristo S.A. (BECAMO) for a visit aimed at strengthening collaborative ties and exploring joint opportunities related to sustainability, agricultural development, and innovation.<\/p>

Founded in 1983 and part of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe since 1989, BECAMO has established itself as one of Honduras\u2019 leading coffee exporters, distinguished by its commitment to innovation and technological modernization.<\/p>

The delegation included Ram\u00f3n Emilio Medina, Co-CEO of BECAMO; Milton Ramos Rub\u00ed, Technical Assistance Officer; and Eliu Hern\u00e1ndez, Technical Assistance Coordinator for the Central and Eastern Regions.<\/p>

Ram\u00f3n Emilio Medina brings extensive experience in international trade, business strategy, and executive leadership within the global coffee industry. He currently serves as Co-CEO of BECAMO, leading growth, innovation, and regional expansion strategies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The visit began with an executive meeting with Zamorano University authorities and representatives, including Rector Jeff Cohen; Alejandro Osorio, Director of Institutional Development; and Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Baires, Fundraising Manager for Honduras. During the meeting, participants exchanged perspectives on collaboration opportunities and shared initiatives related to sustainability, agricultural production, innovation, and organizational development. Faculty members from the Environment and Development and Agroindustry departments also participated in the discussions, contributing their expertise in strategic areas for future joint initiatives.<\/p>

As part of the agenda, the delegation toured several academic and productive units across campus, including the fruit and vegetable processing plant, the cocoa and coffee laboratories, the soil laboratory, and various areas of the central campus. The visit provided an opportunity to experience firsthand the Learning by Doing educational model that defines Zamorano University.<\/p>

Through initiatives like this, Zamorano University continues to strengthen strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the agrifood sector, promoting efforts that contribute to sustainable development, innovation, and the preparation of future leaders for Latin America.<\/p>
