Zamorano University reaffirmed its commitment to food security and community development by participating in the signing of the School Snack Program agreement, an initiative carried out in partnership with the Honduran Food Bank and Dinant to support vulnerable communities.<\/p>

Although this is the first time the agreement has been formally signed between the participating institutions, the program has been implemented for four consecutive years through Zamorano University\u2019s Social Responsibility and Environmental Management Department, consolidating a sustained effort to support children and families in the community of Tabla Grande, San Antonio de Oriente, Francisco Moraz\u00e1n.<\/p>

As a strategic partner in this initiative, Zamorano University has provided technical assistance, logistical support, and guidance in food and nutrition education processes. During 2025, the program benefited 73 children from the community, achieving significant results in school retention and nutritional improvement.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The program has also been supported by students, faculty members, and nutrition specialists from the Food Science and Agroindustry program, who have led workshops and training sessions for parents, strengthening community capacities in nutrition and healthy eating practices. In addition, the university has supported food supplementation efforts for the preparation of school snacks and the technical follow-up of the program\u2019s activities.<\/h6>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the signing ceremony of the agreement, the following representatives from Zamorano University were present: Jeff Cohen, Rector; Dr. Ana Maier, Vice President and Academic Dean; Eng. David Moreira, Vice President of Productive Units; Eng. Paola Dom\u00ednguez, Manager of University Social Responsibility and Environmental Management; and Eng. Carlos Puerto, Environmental Management Coordinator.<\/p>

This alliance reflects the impact that can be achieved when academia, private enterprise, and social organizations work together to address challenges related to child nutrition and food security in Honduras.<\/p>
